Caltha palustris—One of my favorite harbingers of spring is looking for Caltha palustris commonly known as marsh marigold. This perennial plant is perfect on pond edges where it can easily be seen and enjoyed up close. It should also be considered when landscaping wetland areas. A great place to see Caltha palustris is by visiting Garden in the Woods by the pond.
