Leave alone tomato/tobacco hornworms with white cocoons on their back. The cocoons belong to a parasite wasp which will kill the hornworm.

Buy produce unavailable from the garden at a local farm stand or farmers’ market.

Hover flies are beneficial insects that look like yellowjackets. Their larvae can eat garden pests such as aphids and thrips.
