Mow over raked leaves before adding to the compost pile to help them break down faster.
Do not use the stems and berries of invasive Oriental bittersweet for wreaths. Dispose of bittersweet by putting into the trash to be sure it doesn’t spread.
Scrub the birdbath with a solution of nine parts water, one part vinegar.
