Salvia and asters are deer resistant as are most herbs with fragrant leaves. If deer are a problem in the landscape, consider incorporating these plants into your garden this fall.

Fall is a good time for corrective tree pruning; look for rubbing branches and cracks.

Plant astilbes in low, damp areas.

Ripe apples snap off easily when gently lifted with the palm of the hand.

Turfgrass planting projects are best completed by the end of September.
